Our institutional journey
A clear distinction between what exists today, the institutional options that may become relevant, and the long-term foundation vision.
HCOF's development is not presented as a fixed legal ladder. After the association phase, additional recognition or status may be pursued according to the organization's activities, eligibility, needs and the legal requirements applicable at that time.
Current phase
Non-profit association
Registration and initial operations in Douala, establishment of the management bodies, first food and school-support actions, and the first public reporting.
Possible institutional developments
These options are distinct. HCOF does not state that one must necessarily precede the other.
NGO accreditation
May be pursued if HCOF meets the applicable conditions and if this status serves the organization's mission, partnerships and development.
Recognition of public utility
May be pursued if HCOF's demonstrated activities and legal eligibility support an application for such recognition.
Long-term objective
An appropriate foundation structure
The long-term organizational objective is to establish, when legally and operationally appropriate, a foundation structure capable of carrying the Hope's City vision and broader international partnerships.
We will not announce a legal status before it has been formally obtained. This site will distinguish between the current legal form, an application in progress, a possible future option and a long-term vision.
